Firstly, I’d like to extend sincere gratitude for visiting this blog page. As a physician of over half a decade, I understand that time is everything—especially YOUR time. So, I promise I’ll be short and sweet. 🍭
What is the purpose of this platform, you ask? Simple: to add value to small business owners in the medical field like yourselves. After navigating the medical space during my years of clinical medicine, I’ve witnessed firsthand the lack of attention towards wealth management, self-awareness, career direction, and soulful restoration amongst our primary healthcare workers.
Having held the capacity of a medical doctor and completed my rotations through Internal Medicine, General Surgery, and the unforgiving Pediatric Medicine, I have personally experienced and shared the pain of struggles surrounding these deficiencies with my colleagues. The institution of Medicine primarily focuses on the patient at its core. New treatment regimes, technology, and studies mostly hold the patient at the center of developments made. However, I'm sure you would agree that the welfare of the caregiver is also a significant factor that is too often overlooked.
The purpose of The Gold Steth Circle Community is to create equilibrium in patient care by focusing on you, the provider. Let’s do some daydreaming together for a while, shall we? Imagine you've just opened a medical practice that caters to over 30 patients a day. It requires time, energy, and resources that may be burdensome if you’re an amateur or have received little guidance. Now, picture having access to a community and resources that break down how to start a medical practice, systemize it, and develop leadership within your team so that you now have a scalable and profitable practice. Don't forget the strong digital presence you have online due to the guidance received on bolstering your online presence. That is our goal: providing a better version of you to your community. This platform aims to offer resources that provide direction to doctors seeking wealth management mastery, professional branding direction, and personal development.
While practicing as a medical doctor in Jamaica, it was quite difficult to identify a place where the wholesome welfare and personal growth of physicians are prioritized. So, being the ambitious and trying youth I am—thanks, Mum—I decided to cultivate an institution that provides resources that cater to these facets. The The Gold Steth Circle will provide medical professionals and apprentices (We see you, medical students👨🏽🎓!) with deep insights into what it means to build a career in the medical space.
This platform will highlight the values, attributes, and skills required to perform at the highest level of your field and also what to consider in building out a successful brand in your career. Whether focusing on photography, baking, or creating an online brand while practicing in medicine we got you! It is very much possible to perform at the highest level at your day job while scaling a business in the marketplace.
Preparation is key in the ever competitive world of entrepreneurship- a field that is always changing. It's also important for us to impact our students. Forgive my nostalgia, but I recall being in medical school and receiving only one lecture about developing a winning mindset (which was mostly quotes on a slide). I believe you deserve more insights that will stir curiosity and inspire greater success—in all dimensions of life.
As we draw the curtains on our first post, I hope these aspirations align with you. Sonwealth will be a safe space where you can be vulnerable with your own goals of becoming a better physician and a better entrepreneur—a true essential (I hope the name grows on you, truly). And even if you believe your calling isn’t business, we do hope our insights and perspectives add value to your daily interactions inside and outside the workplace. As we start this journey together, I will commit myself to growth so that I can pour more into you, my readers. My mistakes, my successes, my lessons are dedicated to you. I pray that this platform and all related material and networks will be a ministry to the healers of our nation.
